As Sony says on the official PSVR website, “The PlayStation VR headset was engineered to be balanced, comfortable, and completely adjustable. It’s designed to feel like it’s not there – keeping you free from distraction as you explore new gaming worlds.” Additionally, they say using PlayStation VR is as easy as plugging your headset and PlayStation Camera (sold separately) into your PS4.

Elsewhere in Sony’s announcement, they detailed the Cinematic mode, which lets you play PlayStation 4 games and videos in a large virtual screen while wearing the headset:

Supported content for the Cinematic mode includes standard PS4 games and videos as well as variety of PS4 features including Share Play and Live from PlayStation. Users will also be able to enjoy 360 degrees photos and videos that are captured by devices such as omnidirectional cameras on PS VR via PS4 Media Player, which will let them feel as if they are physically inside the captured scene.

“Users can enjoy content on a virtual screen up to 225 inches (5 meters in width) at a distance of 2.5 meters,” they said, adding that the size of the screen will feel different depending on the user.

As part of Sony’s continued plans to “vigorously promote” PSVR ahead of launch in October 2016, games will be showcased at events around the world.
