During BlizzCon Online 2021, Blizzard Entertainment announced Diablo II: Resurrected, a definitive edition remastering of the seminal action RPG originally released in 2000. The remaster is set to release in 2021 for PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, and PC (Battle.net), priced at US$39.99.
Diablo II: Resurrected will include both Diablo II and the Lord of Destruction expansion pack with redone 3D visuals, lighting, cinematics, and Dolby 7.1 surround sound support. It will also support cross-progression between platforms, as well as a toggle to flip between the original 2D sprite graphics and new 3D graphics. Blizzard states that all of the gameplay systems, quirks and all, remain intact in the remaster. However, a few quality-of-life tweaks have been implemented, such as a shared stash.
